Nutritional Counseling
Nutrition is a basic component of health and according to the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services it is a significant factor in the development of diseases including diabetes, heart disease and cancer. The average American is overweight. For many, the word “diet” means a special program to lose extra pounds which is followed until weight comes off, then abandoned before reverting back to old habits.
Nutritional counseling, approached in a holistic manner, addresses the whole body. An individualized plan to create balance and optimal health is developed. Together a whole body plan will be put into place that will work for the individual to reach health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. Also, one will develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for them along with implementation of lasting changes that will improve energy, balance and health. Beyond what we eat, other factors in our nutritional health include fluid intake, nutrients (vitamins and minerals), exercise, and rest. With love and respect of one’s body, a change of lifestyle can be experienced easily and naturally.
